Partial Stop Order

📣📣 A Stop Order has been placed on 2134 Coyle street
from the DOB due to a gas line leak.
It is now a partial stop order

This is an outrage

of the highest order

Like Admiral Ackbar said in Stars Wars: It's a trap!

Safety First

The lot that contains 2114-2154 Coyle street was approved to be affordable housing by the City Council and Community Board 15. But after the approval, Coyle Street LLC sold the lot to Westhab, who decided to build a large-scale homeless shelter.

While we do not oppose homelessness, having a homeless shelter nearby schools and daycare centers raises concerns about community safety regarding children and the elderly.

Victory Speech at 86th street

This is significant for Coyle Street because their victory is a precedent for ours. Although the communities are separated, we share many of the people — we have relatives over there, friends who grew up with us, elders who watched both blocks rise and fall. Their win shows that when we speak with one voice, we can unite as one. What happened on 86th is not just their story — it’s a signal that our fight is not in vain. If they can do it, so can we.

Tragedy of April 30th

On April 30th, Mayor Adams issued a Level 1 Mobilization to disperse protestors at the site—deploying officers from multiple precincts, SWAT teams, and even helicopters. The day was marked by widespread reports of police brutality. Politicians who witnessed the crackdown expressed outrage at the excessive force. Curtis Sliwa criticized the arrests, saying, “They’re targeting citizens instead of real criminals.” Senator Steve Chan echoed the sentiment, even reacting bluntly with a “WTF” directed at the mayor.
